oh this first plate is a drypoint, and not an etching

tbh i really kind of like drypoint, it's incredibly simple

here's the first etching i ever made
i used motifs from my instructer's old stamp collection and integrated them with an underwater theme

i did a small edition before the aquatint...

this design is kinda wacky
but i like it

these were my favorite prints from last semester
for whatever reason...

this was a test plate for aquatint

i think maybe i liked this one cuz it has a bee in it...

keep forgetting to update this thing...

this is just a test plate to learn the ways of softground
only got one proof
drew from a photograph so i dont really like it...

this assignment was literally "draw ur shoe"

my third monster plate
this is an akeki
it's a native american fairy type spirit
they follow families through the generations and either cause mischief, or bring good luck

this was also a test plate for soft ground fabric transfer

it's really dark cuz i treated it like an aquatint, even tho i used the line-etch bath for the values orz

everything turned out much better than expected
even though i had to reverse the values of the bg and hair which i had in mind

also
i really like centipedes...
they are my fav insect im pretty sure

stag beetles are close second :)
