@RedmonBray: Hahaha nice bro. I'm a snob when it comes to beer. I lovvveeee Blue Moon. Be careful with it, it'll catch up to you if you just slug them down.

I'm in Texas visiting family. I was hoping to find a Texas IPA and this Wild Hare amber from the Spoetzl Ale House was as close as I could find so far. I was really hoping to see something with real hops from Shiner and this is a good offering. It's less hoppy than an IPA but it's still floral and it's matched well with the caramel malt. It's not as robust as Prohibition Ale, but it still has a good balance and enough flavor to satisfy me. Many Texans will not appreciate the bitterness of the hops. "Hop to it" is printed on the case so you know what you're getting into. This is currently my favorite brew from Shiner. I hope they keep progressing and I'm proud of the Spoetzl Ale House for keeping up with the craft brew trends.

@RedmonBray: So does the kind that you're drinking, to my palate. Still, I'm jealous that you can buy alcohol next door.

La Folie Sour Brown Ale from New Belgium. I've been on the look out for an American sour ale and I finally found one. This is the most sour ale I have ever tried and I really like it. The side of the bottle reads, "Seriously sour, this flanders-style reddish brown ale was fermented 1 to 3 years in French oak barrels for mouth puckering perfection." It's sour but somehow more dry than more traditional sours from Flemland. It's reminiscent of a fine wine, or maybe that's just the glass I'm using.

@Acidsmooth: they actually serve beer in those kind of glasses. They are called Voetglass up in there, not to mistake with Stiefel that are the boots. They also serve Kwak beer in what is called Koetsiersglas. All this is just fancy and overdone, better drink it straight from the bottle.

@Acidsmooth: I think wild hare is kind of gross. I don't really care for ales though but I do like wild hare considering.
