2) It was nice not to have to refresh the page to see new stickers. Also it looked pretty.

I thought stickers worked pretty damn well in the old design--i.e., theme based on top sticker, sticker rain was great how it was, all that. The ONLY good thing about the new sticker system is that you can see what sticker you gave a post, which you couldn't in the old system.

So I'd say there are two options for that:
1. Post theme based on top sticker, regardless of what sticker the user gives the post (old system)
2. Post theme based on top sticker UNTIL user stickers the post, at which point the theme reflects whatever sticker the user gave the post (maybe with some visual clue to differentiate between stickered and non-stickered posts?)

Make it possible to stick the stickers to actual spots on the post (and others will be able to see where you put your sticker when they hover over the sticker tray) so you can form penises and other edgy things out of stickers.

+ Only when your vote changes the top sticker. It's funny but I felt accomplished somehow when my vote was able to change from a theme to another.

i think we need a row of three new free stickers that show that a given post is bad. these stickers should not count towards leveling up. i know we have a cookie sticker and the D: and the ?, but those count towards leveling, and i feel that we should have new stickers that don't have any baggage.

maybe a sticker to show that a post is retarded and the poster should feel bad. i would say Zoidberg why not, but he is trademarked, so maybe a dunce cap or a downsy potato or something?

@Jiakko: This might be before your time, but I remember having a big discussion about epic stickers giving more than one point towards a new level. The mods listened and implemented our ideas.

@natedog: They already tried this, and almost everyone agreed that they didn't like seeing so much negativity everywhere and they got rid of it. They had a millhouse sticker, a poop sticker, and another generic one that I can't remember.

- I recall reading something like "sticker rain gave problems to people with slow pc" or something like that. Just add a toggle checkbox in the options?! You already have "current" js object, simply add those options there...

Neither. The main focus (imo) should always be current top sticker. (Except on http://canv.as/user/username/stickered) Your own sticker could be shown in the lower right corner, as in my mockup.

I'm really enjoying the new design though, despite absolutely hating it on the first day, although I miss there being a proper front page.
One thing I would suggest to change is to move the 'start thread' button further away from the notifications thingy, I've lost 3 posts (including this one first time round!) by accidentally hitting it when going up to look at an alert.

I love having a personal dashboard, being able to follow people and I feel much more inclined to post lately. Overall though, good job I love it.

I think i can agree with most stuff here...sticker rain was nice, realtime sticker updates were nice, showing stickers before you sticker yourself...all these things gave the site a more lively feeling, even if just superficial.

If it's possible to make these toggleable options, as a couple of people have said, it would go far toward pleasing a larger number of users. Also giving the users the choice of what their default view is would be helpful too. Giving options is usually a better idea than always telling them how the site is going to behave.

sticker rain on the popular/new page was fun to watch, but kind of gratuitous. sticker rain while in a thread was great though.

I love sticker rain with a raving passion. I especially love not paying attention to sticker rain, then going back to the tab and watching all the stickers pour in (living vicariously through other people's success, I suppose). I have no negative comments about sticker rain to provide, but perhaps it would be nice to make it up to user preference whether to use it or not.

As for making the sticker experience better...I'd actually like to see more shop stickers at both the same price points as some of the current ones, and at new levels as well. We have plenty of low end options, but not many on the higher end of the scale, and some posts deserve more than a power glove but less than a oneocle! Additionally, I would like the return of 1x#1 sticker...don't much like that B| and banana are the same value, but I don't necessarily mean to demote B|

I think the question mark and cookie should stay. Cookies for being ambiguous, and question marks for when you don't get something. I hate how people use question marks as a sort of spam weapon, though. I'm glad it's bottom tier in terms of tie breaking.

@ravenunknown: I think this is a beautiful solution to bring together the advantages of the old and new post sticker layout. I fully support it!

Sticker rain was awesome in every way. As many have said, it made the site feel more alive.

Regarding an improved stickering experience, I'd love to see more rare stickers, hidden stuff, contests, scavenger hunts, etc.

Change explore to have 2 column not 3, that way we see the images quicker. Scrolling take barley anytime where as opening it in a new tab takes longer and more bandwidth.

Can I follow 'anonymous'? ... I miss seeing a bunch of new random crap all over the front page. Even if it was all reposts.
