@Anonymous: "The point is, criminals will find ways to get guns, legally or illegally. "
Yes, I'm sure Mr. Pasty Failed Neuroscience Nerd over here would just cruise over to the barrio and hit up one of his many Mexican cartel connections to buy some illegal weapons out of the trunk of a beat-up '97 Honda Civic.
That argument works for gangbangers, but it does not work for these types of adolescent-white-kid-snaps scenarios.1 9 1 2 1 1 1 -

Take away our rights to guns and you can pretty much kiss your freedom goodbye. Think Nazi Germany, only here in America. It would be so easy to put everyone into concentration camps once nobody has any guns to defend themselves, wouldn't it? Any time a government wants to try and take away your means of defense, you don't just sit there and let them. If you honestly think it's a good idea to do away with guns to the public, you are an idiot and you should feel bad. Either way, I'll be stocked up on rifle ammunition with a nice stockpile of weaponry once I hear they're going to attempt to take away our guns, you can gladly give your rights away along with your life and the lives of those you care about, HUR DUR.

@Lamasutra: Actually it's closer to 2.98 per 100,000 GUN RELATED HOMICIDES in the US and 0.23 per 100,000 in France. But yeah, spout off some more outdated and out of context statistics. You might make a great politician someday!
France has 65,436,552 people living in it. USA has 311,591,917 people.
Look up any figure you want. USA will be worse off than France simply because WE HAVE 4.76 TIMES AS MANY PEOPLE DOING STUPID SHIT AS FRANCE.
You also forget that France mixes with guns as well as beer mixes with whiskey(and for all you non-drinkers out there, they don't mix well at all) It's for their own safety that they aren't allowed guns. Pic related -

@Anonymous: You're talking about specific firearms being generally unlawful. I was responding to a suggestion that certain people be deprived of their otherwise-lawful firearms because of intent. If somebody isn't doing anything illegal, why is an officer arresting him? Of course a peace officer is going to disarm somebody they're arresting. You don't want a guy in handcuffs to have a gun; that's silly.
As for what I need 6,000 rounds for, that's none of the state's business. Maybe I like to go out plinking on the weekends and caught a deal on a bulk purchase. Ain't nobody's business.3 -
@Anonymous: along with better restrictions on guns, Mr Obama needs to put restrictions on the sort of idiots that use the internet.Maybe some sort of IQ test.
