@Anonymous: If you're going to rag on Nolan, at least be accurate. His brother Jonathan does all the writing.
Your opinion has been noted, and quickly forgotten. Thank you.1 -

@deadrebel: So his brother, uncredited, wrote inception?
No.
No he didn't.
Written and Directed by Chris Nolan. You see Chris does a fair amount of the writing himself, he has claimed he doesn't, but The Prestige and Memento DVD and Blu-Ray extras say otherwise. He also wrote his debut, Following on his own.
Now Inception and Following both lack something - emotional punch. There's a paucity to them in those scripts. I don't really feel all that much for Cobb in Inception - nor do I hate the original Cobb (same name, yep) in Following. I don't feel betrayed by any actions. I don't hate them, I don't feel for them. Cobb and his wife in Inception? I didn't care too much.
Now look at what Jonathan Nolan gives Christopher. Emotional depth. The prestige is a heart breaking film, because each character is a person. Not a avatar for Nolan to show us his visuals, he's a person in his own right. In Memento, we get someone who we have to side with at least at some point for any of the story to happen. The Dark Knight - we need to believe in this people as people, or it wouldn't work as well.
My argument there, if you bothered to read it, was that Jonathan's input is clearly indispensable to Chris, as without him he lacks the emotional side to his films needed so the audience can become invested.
Your criticism of my previous critical comment has been noted and proved to be wrong. Have a nice day.1 -
