the system is a type of string substitution system with the added feature that rules can be converted to strings and vice versa

basically you start with a rule and a string, the rule could be "aab"->"aba", and the string could be something like aaaba, and applying the substitution would give you aabaa.

my project had to do with seeing how these systems are similar to logic, and after I had written all of my code, I decided to make a few gifs which really don't show much of whats going on but in my opinion look kinda cool.
