@Anonymous: Because most of what we think of as "magic" - levitation, teleportation, summoning, creating energy from nothing etc. violates the laws of physics. If it doesn't it's either highly advanced technology (Nivenian magic) or it's a magic trick, or illusion. And for either of those you don't need to go to outer space at all, there are tons of those here on Earth.
