Obamacare passed two years ago. That was when the House and Senate voted to send the bill to be signed by the president. All that happened yesterday was the Supreme Court made the obvious call and let almost all of it stand. Enjoy your shit-tier third-world states that don't want to expand Medicaid.
This is a huge victory of Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, who were pushing for individual mandates as a path to universal coverage for decades.6 -

@Anonymous: I agree surely this is just America getting something nearly 70 years overdue? In the UK we have the National Health Service which is a public healthcare scheme that has provided free healthcare to UK citizens since 1948.

@Anonymous: Nope, no national health service. This just changes some of the rules for insurance companies, subsidizes broke-ass people that cannot afford insurance, and taxes people who refuse to purchase a qualifying insurance service from the private market. They're trying to fix a broken insurance-coverage situation without breaking the environment whereby we have really really good doctors and facilities.

@burrowowl: Really what it does is force employers to provide health insurance.
Since WWII Employers have been the main supplier of health insurance due to a rent & income freeze which didn't also freeze benefits, so companies found that they could compete for workers based on health care and other perks.
The problem I see (though maybe I am just missing something) is that this doesn't really help people without jobs. Maybe this was in the design and over a thousand years we can breed out laziness. -

@Anonymous: in fascism, they find all the people with differing political ideologies in the movie industry government and blacklist them and force them to admit they are guilty of something, and to implicate other people in this guilt

@Anonymous: in communism, certain entities start feeling entitled to government aide and assitance and stop being as productive as they could be

@Anonymous: I came from Wikipedia, where it says:
Fascism (play /ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a radical authoritarian nationalist political ideology.[1][2] Fascists seek elevation of their nation based on commitment to an organic national community where its individuals are united together as one people in national identity by suprapersonal connections of ancestry and culture through a totalitarian state that seeks the mass mobilization of a nation through discipline, indoctrination, physical training, and eugenics.[3][4] Fascism seeks to eradicate perceived foreign influences that are deemed to be causing degeneration of the nation or of not fitting into the national culture.[5]
NOTE:
Fascism seeks to eradicate perceived foreign influences that are deemed to be causing degeneration of the nation or of not fitting into the national culture.[5]
--
Mcarthyism is therefore fascism.
I'll leave you with a quote:
"Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."

@Anonymous: While I appreciate the sentiment, and note the wikipedia quote as a nice effort, McCarthyism was not exactly the same as fascism, there may on the surface appear to be some similarities though to a Labour Commie sympathiser. He was just another whacked up American demagogue in the same vein as Ron Paul, Glenn Beck and Father Coughlin. Somehow you guys get all the luck, and morons. Local politics is always far more entertaining with whackjobs like that running around.
