This is based on DeadMaus' claim in Rolling Stone that electronic dance music acts are basically hitting play and waving their hands in the air. Himself included.

@Anonymous: The ones I've seen are all very interactive. I even saw Skrillex live before he got too mainstream, and he did an alright show with about a half hour straight of actual mixing and improv. It's got more to do with how popular someone is and how much effort they have to put out to make money, as I'd literally eat my top hat and monocle if Skrillex were to do a show today half as good as the one I saw him do 2 years ago.

Also, Porter Robinson and Bassnectar were intensely amazing live. Both had their own unique remixes of Chop Suey when I saw them.

my friend and i do live mixing at parties, nothing too special or technical, just a laptop, speakers, and a virtual deck program..... i somehow feel that we probably put more effort into our shows then some DJ's i've paid to see... :|
