@Anonymous: No, no, that there were two ships crashed above the ground, that both had a single engineer in them, who both fell victim to the same type of xenomorph (which can only be produced in weirdly specific circumstances, it seems), which then (presumably) laid eggs in both ships.

It was a different type of xenomorph entirely, but Prometheus implies that they (probably) engineered the xenomorphs from Alien, and they engineered the whatevers in Prometheus that killed them, so again, not really a coincidence that they would share that fate. Everything they did seemed to go tits up and turn against them.

What laid the eggs in Alien remains unexplained, but there weren't any eggs in Prometheus, just the jars that David took an interest in, and they were presumably not "laid" but built in a large space kiln for purposes of goo storage.

And, yeah, Prometheus was fine. It just wasn't as good as Alien.

@Anonymous: She couldn't roll out of the way like Shaw did because she was closer to the center than Shaw was. She also clearly underestimated how fast the ship would roll over or if it would even keep rolling over, they both did, Shaw just got lucky. With a ship of that size and of a that shape, it's not easy to predict where and how it was going to fall over. The best they could do was run, Shaw just rolled out of the way after she tripped, it was a last resort and she happened to get lucky.
