oh look, another thread full of suggestions for this site by the users that's completely ignored by the mods.
my 1cent is to only allow people to make only 1 thread per 4/5 hours to stop those awful, awful people dumping shitty stuff on #funny solely for the purpose of harversting stickers.
nah forget it. this site has been going for a year and none of the ideas in the feedback have ever been considered.

1) mods haven't posted something =/= mods haven't seen it and taken some suggestions into consideration
2) I think it's possible that some people post stuff to #funny because they think it's, you know, funny.
3) I like your idea of limiting the number of threads people can start in a given period of time, but only for new people
4) check out http://canvasnetworks.uservoice.com/forums/110153-general-feedback/status/422799 for ideas and feedback that the mods have implemented -

@Anonymous: https://canv.as/x/everything/top/2012/6/7
the entire front page is nothing but posts in #funny.
everytime i log in, canvas is being spammed by 1 or 2 retards who only harvest stickers, but no one cares and they keep doing it.
most of these posts are reposts and nothing is actually funny.
lol stickers don't make anything funny on this site.
there are 18k people 'following' #funny, yet only 1 or 2 users make threads in the group.
there are over 30 groups in the directory, but only 4/5 are actually active which probably explains the dead traffic stats.
as far as your 4th point goes most of those ideas/tools are never used by users.

@Anonymous: 1) How do you know it's only one or two people posting in #funny? Most of the posts are anonymous. I think you're making ridiculous assumptions here.
2) I assure you that there are many active groups, more than just the 4 or 5 most popular ones. They might not get a new post every few minutes, but they are still active enough to be interesting.
3) I suggest you start using #following by default and not follow #funny. You seem to really hate that one specific group a lot. Sure, you might be late in discovering a new group that pops up every now and then, but is that really worse than raging over stuff you hate?
4) I think you're suffering from some major confirmation bias here. You're only noticing the ideas/tools that you don't use personally. What about:
-boosting the value of #1 stickers with how they appear on posts
-getting points whenever your image is remixed
-the ability to flip stamps
-adding a line tool, circle tool, and eraser fill tool
-improving the text editor to handle multiple lines
-adding the 'view all notifications' page
-ability to claim posts
-unicode support
-image filters
-changing the default text color to white with a black border instead of red with no border
-limited #1 stickers and adding epic stickers
-epic stickers give the person who receivs them more than just one point in their sticker bar
-adding layers
-downvote and flag stickers
-detecting if an image has already been uploaded
-line smoothing in the editor so there are no more jagged edges
-merge layer button
All of these were added because they were suggested via user input. I'm pretty sure they've added a lot of stuff you use all the time. They just haven't done the two or three things that YOU specifically want them to do. Maybe they haven't gotten around to it, maybe there are some large technical hurdles that make it much more complicated than you'd think to implement, or maybe they just disagree with the idea and don't …2 -

@Anonymous: Well, maybe so, maybe not. I guess the point I was making is that here you guys are, arguing/talking about things to do, and none of you can DO these things, except for admin. And so the only fitting conversation besides suggestions is any (read: ANY) feedback anyone has gotten.

@Anonymous: I think a looser code of conduct will make us closer to 4chan without turning us into exactly 4chan, but that's still a bad thing.

@Anonymous: I think the reason most of the ideas in this thread will never come into fruition is because they are terrible, terrible ideas.

@Anonymous: this thread is mostly jokes, terrible ideas, and people saying those ideas are terrible. The mods actually have responded in this thread when someone had a legitimate concern about what the site looks like when not logged in.

we all see 'em roaming around, being disgusting... When this website started it was at least somewhat safe for work, I didn't feel scared having it open near my little brother. But now, with the almost naked women and sometimes downright disturbing stuff, I can't draw and remix in public anymore!
