@sanamkan: There is nothing saying you have to pay for Cave Story and it was out for quite a long time before Pixel was approached to make the console revisions which have higher quality sprites and sound. So yes that is doing it right.

@remeranAuthor: What's rockcock64? I'm at work if I were to look up videos of it would I be fired?

@remeranAuthor: I can't find anywhere how much money cave story has brought in. I think the biggest payment they're gonna get is the recognition from people in the industry and probably a job.

@remeranAuthor: It was part of a Humble Bundle, so it definitely made money good money just with that.
-
@Anonymous: Also, I had no idea that the original remained free when + was released. Sorry about that.

@remeranAuthor: One of the only things I've ever seen you say that I have agreed with. God cavestory+ makes me want to tear my eyeballs out of their sockets.

@remeranAuthor: Oh the best gamers. Ok, I know who you're talking about then. I can't say I really like those guys. They're kinda funny but I don't like watching game reviews (even parody).

@sanamkan: No problem brah. I doubt a lot of people even know what Cave Story was before it showed up on the Wii. It's sad really.

@Anonymous: I don't know. Doesn't seem like the place to talk about it. I mean there is a minecraft board here. Although good luck talking objectively about it there.

@Harbltron: I too got the humble bundle and am currently playing Amnesia. At first I was all "It can't be that scary, I mean, I played Silent Hill/Eternal Darkness/Fatal Frame/etc no sweat! Horror games don't phase me". Play this: "..."

@remeranAuthor: Wow, I have seen that before but damn. All I knew is that notch took quite a few mods from users and implemented them pretty shittly without giving credit. And he never really finished the game instead opting to slap some retarded dragon fight that brought up credits when you killed it. Plus I'll be honest I really don't like the whole idea of buying an alpha version of a game with the "promise" that you'll get the finished game sometime later. But damn son, is even half of the stuff in that video true?

@remeranAuthor: Well, I'm glad I didn't buy minecraft then. That's just fucking awful. I even like the idea a little but jesus, that's like literally everything you shouldn't do when making a game. That'd be like going to see a movie which you had to pay for well before it was finished then when you do get to see it not only is it technically bad (like shot on shitty film/can't hear actors) but it's not even really finished. I am completely disgusted.

@Anonymous: Well I should clarify, this is a horrible review to show now. There have been several patches and content has been added that makes this review basically obsolete.

@Anonymous: I see. So may I ask why the game was officially released in this state though? And might I add I have the newest version and it still has several of the things stated in the video wrong with it. So what's up with that?
-

@Anonymous: To make money, duh. I'm sure Mojang knows what is wrong with the game and they continue to develop for the game. But offering the game for half of what they intended to sell it for while the games popularity was growing would be a loss of money. Besides since you're a minecraft player, do you really play minecraft in it's vanilla state??
-
Anonymous
@Anonymous: That's fucking awful. It's never acceptable to release a game in this state. This is everything wrong with the game industry right here.
-
Anonymous
@Anonymous: Seriously? Right here? With minecraft? Out of all the games and game developers out there, everything that is wrong with the industry is right here?
-
Anonymous
@Anonymous: Yes, everything about minecraft is how a game shouldn't be made. Deal with it.

@Anonymous: actually they kind of can because they dont have to conform to the linear storylines and the horribly put together online maps that always end up the same. i dont want to get involved, i think you guys should stop fighting about this, but just wanted to say this was true

@Anonymous: also the stupid set up of the players and their weapons, and the weapons themselves

@Anonymous: I nearly had a heart attack and I haven't even faced any danger with the monsters yet.
-
@remeranAuthor: I remember playing the first Silent Hill when I was 12 or 13 and at first I had to turn off the playstation right as soon as I got to the alleyway where the first monster is at. Then I turned it back on and played it anyway. After a while, I figured that it actually wasn't so bad and it felt like an accomplishment that I was able to conquer such fears. Silent Hill 2? I actually thought it was pretty laughable. Eternal Darkness was actually pretty scary at times and whenever I try Amnesia, I'm reminded of Eternal Darkness a little because of the "sanity meter", but honestly, it always felt like a matter of adjusting/adapting. At first it's scary, but after a while, it's like you're on top of the world.
Not with Amnesia.
It only gets scarier and scarier the more I play. -

@Anonymous: Alright then, I have a dare.
Pitch me the best video game ever made, hands down.
My guesses:
- Impossible to program by today's standards
- Is an FPS/RTS
- Has a REALISTIC space or war setting
- Copies another game, but adds one feature, doesn't improve any other mechanics
- Tons of gore/blood
- More towards "immersion", less towards actual "story"
- Was thought up completely on the spot and/or every other word in the pitch is a swear. -

@Anonymous: This conversation has been had a billion times on /v/ already and they have come up with ideas that don't fit into your little way of thinking. But you don't really want actual game discussion do you? Fehgate pls go.
