@Anonymous: Yeah. We are. This is something we're passionate about, so we're debating it. That's how progress happens. People have this terrible tendency, it seems, to think something doesn't matter if they don't personally care about it.

@Anonymous: Okay then. Please allow me to explain.
I was simply countering the implied argument that namefriends are bad by jokingly implying that one bad post reflected on all anons. I sincerely did not mean to imply one group is better than the other.
My gripe is that it's an argument in the first place -

We are going to never break away from 4chan's image, it's never going to happen. I don't see how this site is going to survive since the community is so cutthroat to each other. The fact of the matter is their is no camaraderie on Canvas. People argue day in and day out while ruining people's threads over the stupidest shit. Take this thread as a prime example. We are so concerned about being right instead of being creative.

@Anonymous: THIS is something I care more about. Why do I hang out in drawfriend threads? It's not because I want to feel cooler. It's not because I'm a good artist. It's not because I want to support OC, even. It's because #drawing and #drawfriend_comics (or whatever that group is called) are the only places I have seen where people are not dicks all the time. There's a closeness there that I don't find in, say, #politics or #funny or #pop_culture.

@Anonymous: b-but drawfriends are best friends..
these idiots in this thread have no motivation to be creative.
they're just your average bored moronic modern internet user.
-
@Anonymous: Insulting someone by calling them average is one of the most ridiculously pretentious things I've heard.

@Anonymous: ...yes you can. You don't need bleep, bleep is not the mother you never had, and the most validation you can ever get from bleep is one sticker per post max. Stop caring about bleep.

@Anonymous: You do realize the only instance where I made fun of anons is where one was attacking me, right?
-
Anonymous
@Anonymous: But he's attacking the very thing I stand for, for my works and OC to be judged by their content, and not the name they're attached to.
-

@Anonymous: I think what's funny is if bleep were to say "Yeah, I don't like anonymity. So-the-fuck-what? You gonna persecute me for that?" it would completely shut you down.
But, alas, he is too insecure to stand up for himself. -

@Anonymous: Same here bro, same here. These same idiots raped my last thread because someone mentioned Obama or Ron Paul or who the fuck ever.

@Anonymous: I was being insulted. I then insulted back by making fun of the idea that anon posts are automatically superoir.

@bleep: I've never read something as immature as this in this thread yet.
http://canv.as/p/qqwrl/reply/1278055 was right. -
@Anonymous: Oh shut up. You committed a fallacy and he was using a comparison to prove why you were wrong.
Namefriending so you don't think it's bleep.

@the_harbinger: It isn't a fallacy when it is a fact.
4chan was moot's testing ground for the idea of Internet anonymity. Without it, this site wouldn't have even been thought of because the investors in the site wouldn't put money down on a concept like "anonymity on the Internet".
4chan was able to prove that anonymity could work, and with moot's idea, canv.as was born.
I think you need to learn what a fallacy is, bro. -

@Anonymous: What you exactly said (do I really need to quote you to you?) is "X's existence led to Y, so Y can never be unlike X"
Which, when you think in real-world examples of... anything... is pretty dumb. -
Anonymous
@Anonymous: That wasn't what I said at all.
I said that canv.as wouldn't have existed without 4chan, and I explained why here: http://canv.as/p/qqwrl/reply/1278107

@Anonymous: I resign. You win by default. Congrats on the victory.
Bye, guys. You just reminded me why I don't venture out into the rest of Canvas that much.
>inb4 he left because he was wrong
>inb4 he's just going to anon now
>inb4 OP can't inb4
>inb4 i'm not OP
>mfw i can't do inb4s
>mfw this isn't 4chan
>mfw i can't greentext
>mfw i have no face
(By the way it's ridiculous how we're talking about anons like some sort of oppressed race or religion. Anon is an option. There are TONS of reasons to go anon. Also: props to bleep for being a (slightly) bigger man here just now. He still sucks for reposting so much, though.41 1 -

@remeranAuthor: omigod please don't say that social theory, critical theory, literary theory et cetera, et cetera are legitimate by saying that they are sciences. they are so much more than that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociology_of_scientific_knowledge
