@jeff: Hi Jeff et all, thinking about having the option to create your own stickers, here are a couple of ideas that could be nice:
How about each Canvas user had their own "custom sticker shop", where they could create their own "custom stickers", and anyone could buy them?.
Also a spin-off of that same idea, how about any Canvas user had its own custom made "signature sticker"? Just one, that identifies a particular user, and only he/she could use it to sticker other user's posts.
As you can see these ideas are in very raw state, a lot of details had to be defined like the custom stickers value and price vs "standard stickers", also defining a strategy so that these "custom stickers" don't cannibalize the standard ones in the "Canvas market", etc.
Don't really have that much time lately but I'd be happy to elaborate or help if you guys find the ideas interesting.
Cheers,
echapa
PS. These ideas are not 100% mine, I remember we talked about them long time ago on irc.21 1 1 1 -

What if EVERYONE'S suggestions in this thread could be picked?
"Why, that would be ridiculous! The shop would overflow!" you cry in horror.
Fear not, gentle Canvasaurs! Allow me to unveil the CUSTOMIZABLE CANV.AS STICKER - simply draw/upload your own design onto it when awarding it to somebody's picture! Now you can award any sticker your imagination can supply. The designs would still have to conform to the CoC, of course.
Now I think about it, the minimum amount of gold that this would cost would need to be 51, to discourage people from making their own imitations of the other epic stickers on the cheap (like who's going to pay 15 gold for a kawaii if you can buy a custom sticker for 6 gold and upload the kawaii face onto it?) - the stickers that cost more gold than 51 are animated, so can't be as effectively counterfeited.
The more I think about this, the more of a dangerous way of replacing the other epic stickers it sounds. Even if the price was something like 200 gold, that would just discourage people from buying other stickers so they can save up.
Bluh. Might as well post this anyway, in case it inspires a better revision of the "custom stickers" concept. (:1 1 1 -

@Anonymous: This. Maybe not the exact face, but something that conveys the emotion. I have this reaction to lots of posts and always wish that there was a sicker to express it.

@jeff: On redesigning the classics, I think the "D:" sticker is TOO negative. Although the description is "awful... yet... kind of like it", people seem to primarily be using it for just "awful", almost like a lesser Downvote sticker. Images that get sadface as their dominant sticker rarely become popular, yet posts that evoke sadness can still be a hit. (Though they tend to get a lot of hearts or foreveralones.) Sadface is a sticker with purely negative connotations, but Canv.as discourse is normally positive.
What I propose is to replace "sadface" with a "bawwww" (someone trying not to cry - my drawing is just rough of course), and change the Heart sticker's description to something less about "awww" and more about "love". A lot of Canvasoids, particularly the beta hipsters, are of 4chan stock and remember what bawwww threads are about. Those threads have a sad theme, but certainly not a negative one.
Thanks for reading this far!21 -

translation: "i have two ideas for stix and they MUST be implemented, heres number 1"
when you get a PUDDI sticker, all text on the screen is transformed to PUDDI PUDDI, until you accept it.6 12 7 7 1 6 1 -
heres the second idea. Danny Tanner. "The seemingly incongruous fact that Saget, who is known outside television for his vulgar comedic style, played the overly family-friendly character of Danny Tanner has been a source of material for Saget's stand-up routines."
but seriously, this is a way better sticker than the bill murray GHD sticker.
(possible thought: when you get this sticker, this song starts playing and continues until you accept it"

@Anonymous: I like the premise of a B'aww or Sad sticker. Some may argue that Forever Alone covers it, but I'm not a big fan of FA-- It should stay a seasonal... we shouldn't take rageface things and make them a permanent sticker on Canv.as. I also don't feel like D: covers something that makes you feel sad, or wanna cry-- Even if it's something so cute that it brings you to tears.
I wouldn't make it a teary-eyed Wobbly-lipped thing though-- whenever I think "B'awwwwww." I think of the 4chan B& screen. " ;_; You are banned."
Maybe a sticker like this to capture that feeling-- something that makes you cry, but isn't actually Srs Bsns. -
@shenkerism: That's what I was aiming at with mine while maintaining the standard sticker look, as you can see when I posted it up earlier. http://canv.as/ugc/p/canvas_ptujd.png
