An integral is a mathematics thing, some can be done with the result being a nice equation. Others are impossible and need to be done numerically on a computer. The problem is it is VERY hard to know if it will be one of the other. Usually if a lecturer/teacher gives it too you it will have an analytic one. So to not get one would be terribly unlucky.
Perhaps a bit obscure, but I often make posts for my own amusement. -

@Anonymous: I think it's more a question of why would you put jelly on a sandwich, it's not exactly easily spreadable and is best eaten as a dessert anyway
