@Anonymous: A voter with a lack of acceptable alternatives?
You think McCain/Palin would've been a better choice? As they say in the vernacular, "Looooooooooooooool."
You think Paul, Santorum, or Gingritch would be better? Allow me to repeat myself.
You think Romney will be any different? Once more with feeling, if I may.51 -
Anonymous
@Anonymous: Let me make it clear. I think any of them would be better. Does that mean I like them? No. But if you'd rather support a man who is fundamentally trying to completely change everything this country has ever represented and stood for, including further separating people by inducing class warfare instead of actually fixing all of the problems he promised 4 years ago, and then telling everybody we should follow the European social system and their economics (because as we all know, it's worked wonderfully for them, especially recently too), then I have no respect for you.
If you can't see that voting him out of office will put a huge freaking monkey wrench in the fundamental destruction of the United States, then we're wasting our time. I'm voting for the other party so to keep things in a stalemate, not so that anything can be accomplished. Sad isn't it, that American politics or politics in general has come to this.42 -

@Anonymous: Unless you're making a distinction between 'class warfare' and 'class genocide,' you're completely deluded, but you have fun with that!

@Anonymous: You know, it's sad, but I vastly prefer this interpretation to the somehow more cynical possibility that the GOP feels so confident in their ability manipulate public perception that they're not bothering to put up someone who's not a fucking moonbat.

Woops - I got trolled by some nazi bullshit, here is the original Ben Garrison cartoon (sans racist modification) and my comment:
Let's suspend disbelief and pretend we are actually living in a world where politicians are not puppets, completely and utterly controlled by international interests. You guys are telling me you ACTUALLY think any one of those other guys are even close to appropriate for being your President? Are you fucking kidding me? Obama is articulate, intelligent, and identifiable as a human being, more or less. Every single one of the other guys has proven in a very short time that they are morons, idiots, zealots, and space cadets. It's embarrassing, to say the least.
Now let's unsuspend disbelief. You guys are telling me you ACTUALLY believe the GOP couldn't find better candidates? Are you fucking kidding me? You're telling me they simply could not find a smart republican out there who doesn't have a family retreat called Nigger Head, or who doesn't want to build a fucking MOON BASE in a few years? This "election" is so rigged and set up, the powers that be must sit in front of their TV's and laugh until they piss their gold-plated pants. HERMAN FUCKING CAIN? Seriously? How do you watch him and still look at this circus with any kind of trust? This whole process is a farce, as it has been for some time. These people are laughing at you while planning on how best to squeeze you until you drop.4 -

@Anonymous: Class warfare always has and always will exist. It's just that sometimes one side isn't fighting. It's when there is an equilibrium of power, or the illusion of it, that there is peace. This current escalation of class warfare was not brought on by any politician, nor could it be. A huge influx of practically free labor has been added to the market giving a huge advantage to the upper class. They are using that to squeeze more money out of the system then ever before. As long as things stay civil, the lower classes cannot win. Things will not change for the better. Add to that the free exchange of information, and it becomes a lot harder to placate the masses. Some of us, though, are obviously still placated.

Can someone explain to me why you all put so much effort into these threads; yet you could be doing much more influential activities such as volunteering for the cause you support? As much as I enjoy reading the #politics threads and replies (read:the valid ones) it aggravates me to no end that the same arguments are being posted over and over, only to be rebutted by youtube videos and hyperbolic statements devaluing the actual opinion of their counterpart. Do something if you all care so much.

@seanaesean: Pretty condescending of you to presume to decide what are valuable uses of my time. In case you didn't figure it out already, this isn't a debate site. And who is to say I'm not volunteering at some "worthy" cause and reading Canv.as at the same time? Plenty of volunteering "opportunities" are even bigger wastes of time than Canv.as - at least here you might come across something funny and/or interesting.

@Anonymous: "I'm really curious what it makes you if you voted Obama.
An uneducated, misguided, easily swayed and manipulated sheep?"
It makes you someone who is capable of looking at the reality, and choosing the lesser of two bad options. Personally, I'm looking forward to Republicans choosing their John Kerry and having that moment on November 3 where you are all sitting in a daze wonder how the fuck that guy got elected again. I know that feel, bro. -
@Meander_Thralls: It's not condescending of me to have said that, actually. It's presumptuous, yes, but not condescending. I'm not responding to the other part of your post because you've already noted, what may be valuable to someone is not to another. Ending circular argument. ktnxbai!

@Anonymous: Bush's war deficits plunged us into a depression and Obama is the bad president? Tell me more.

Our bros Canada wanted to make a pipeline to us to make it easier to send us oil. This would help gas prices, which would help the economy. Obama said no. Why did he do this? "Environmental concerns". Now Canada is considering selling all it's oil to China.
Canada, one of the USA's best buddies, wanted to sell us oil for cheap and we said no. Does this make sense? I don't think it does. -

@Caeristhiona: When will this argument finally die? Stupid libs will still be blaming Bush after 7 years of Obama and the country has burned to the ground. The man evidently can do no wrong in their eyes.

@Anonymous: Republicans were blaming the economy on Clinton well into 2008, so it sounds like a fair turn-about to me. Of course, Bush had the benefit of a Republican-majority congress and an opposition party that was unwilling to pull together to fight his proposals seriously. Obama hasn't had the luxury. Pic related.
