@dedwinhedon: "Either way, we both seem to end up with 6 as the average."
This made me curious so I looked up the average sizes. ... for... science...4 -

I've never really gave a shit about inches or feet because I learned them first and so I understand them better, but I learned DEGREES as in heat and coldness and stuff at a pretty late age (took till 5th grade) and I learned Celsius at the exact same time I learned Fahrenheit.
Fahrenheit is FUCKING. STUPID. The reason it's fucking stupid is simple. It's based on points that are INACCURATE.
See, in Celsius, water boils at 100° and freezes at 0°. This is why the scales are at where they are and that's the foundation for the system.
Fahrenheit supposed to be that human body temperature is 100° and water freezes at 0°. BOTH OF THESE POINTS ARE INCORRECT. Water freezes at around 32° and the human body is 98.6°.
Why the fuck does ANYBODY use F to measure ANYTHING? If you say it's more precise because the number span is larger, I'm going to fucking punch you.
Also, Kelvin is just Celsius minus -273.16° exactly. Now you know Kelvin, in case you've ever wanted to know for science reasons.61 -

@Anonymous: What the fuck are you going on about? No one thinks water freezes at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. It's also common knowledge that normal body temperature is around 98.6 degrees F. Everybody understands why Celsius is scaled the way that it is. Everyone learned this shit at 10 years old. Who do you think you're preaching to? Get real, homie.

Well, isn't that the definition of xenophobia? Irrational hate or fear of another country or people? -

@Anonymous: Sarcasm is also an invention of the French.
Remember back in the 90s when the US first discovered sarcasm, and in order to get it to work, they had to end their statements with "NOT!!!!!"
"Oh this is delicious... NOT!!!! HAHAHAHAH I'M HILARIOUS. GET IT?"
"No. :("
"HAHAHAHAHAHA IT'S SARCASM!"2 -

@Anonymous: Maybe because the United States in a huge economy and just changing the measurement system is very disruptive and costs a lot of money. Think about all the manufacturing that is based on our old measuring system. It's easier to do when your economy sucks anyway.
