It's not about the repost thing, it's about the idea of the site. You guys don't get it. If an image is not remixable, it doesn't belong here. Seeing a repost doesn't bother me that much, but seeing an image that is reposted just to get some stickers and that can not be remixed is annoying.
Plus, now people have taken the "reposters side". I guess they must be 9gaggers, and they must believe that every website should be like 9GAG. How sad.

I don't think all reposters should be banned and sent to hell, but I do think it should be generally discouraged and that people are perfectly justified in complaining about it.
Where it starts to really annoy me is when people defend or even encourage the reposts and condemn the complainers, as if they'd be happy to just cycle through the same set of pictures for the rest of their life.
If you come on the site rarely enough that you don't notice reposts, then you don't really have the right to condemn frequent users to it, If you miss a good picture, you missed a good picture, I don't want to see it twice more just so you get to see it.

@Anonymous: If I've seen one complaint about reposts I don't want to see billions and billions of it, that's why I use downvote.

I for one try to only sticker OC, so that can make them difficult to find, doesn't mean I haven't seen it multiple times on canv.as. And I have no reason to lie about it, if I say it's a repost why not just believe me and react however you'd react, if you don't mind reposts it shouldn't even matter to you.

@bee: Canv.as is still in beta, you mean closed beta, and it only became public quite recently.
ITT someone remixed the OP to be about reposts as a joke, but also to point out that it'd been posted before. Then rather than accepting it and doing their own remixes or something else original, the pro-repost-patrol erupted into a shitstorm about how great it is to see stuff you've already seen (or something like that, tl;dr), and how boring the complainer was for being one of only two people to remix the original image.

@Anonymous: Oi, I gave that FYeah sticker because I knew it was a repost, not because I was fooled into thinking it was OC, I want the "THAT'S A REPOST" crap to stop. Once the "Eye button" ACtually hides posts we've seen before (which the C Team said it would) then people don't need to write "REPOST" Every other picture. And by jumping in and saying that we're dumb for arguing (after telling your opinion and basically picking a side) you joined the argument....

@Anonymous: I actually don't mind when someone does something clever to point out the image is a repost, like in this case it was actually kinda funny because it remixed the original image. What bothers me is when people click remix and just write REPOST on top of the image.. That kinda thing doesn't require any creativity at all.

@Anonymous: Well, I've posted reposts without getting that warning, so it probably needs to be an exact image. I posted a pic from a gaming website with no warning only to be told it had been there before.
