TIME only chose to do "The protester" in order to make it easier on themselves to choose a person of the year. They went with a blanket term that could mean anybody, rather than one single person.

In short, TIME is lazy.

I lost a lot of respect for TIME after they did this.

@Anonymous: Right! It was actually a pretty big "war". 4chan, tinychan, ect ect. I forget the names of all of the different image boards and BBS clones that were out to kill anontalk. He got what he had coming to him, jerk spammed everywhere on every imageboard he could find and he ddos'd many imageboards and chans. Also he loved filing many false DMCA reports trying to take down websites that he felt were "clones" of his. I used to be a part of tinychan when that place was dedicated to taking down anontalk and had TONS of hilarious raids (I'll see if I still have screenshots from then). Around this time, moot bought tinychan (kimmo's #1 outlet for ddos raids and DMCA's because he thought it was a ripoff of his site) and hosted it to troll the crud outta Kimmo (Sysop (not me)) Goood times.
