No, I didn't. Maybe I wasn't specifically enough. Yes, the USA should protect religion and freedome of religion but...

...it shall protect ALL religions.
"Yes, and controlling religion and peoples' beliefs isn't democratic."
I don't say you can't believe whatever you want. You just shouldn't can force an unproven theory (which needs some basic faith like in god) on other people in a public institution of the USA, like a school. (Ah, and the Evolution Theory HAS such proofs it is completely scientific and theoretically everybody can be able to relate on it without any religious belief. It is pure logic and evidences. Like science has to be. So no, religion and science are two completely different things.)
"Yes, but America shouldn't tolerate anybody who wants to, plans to, and actively carries out such activities. There is a difference between having a belief and carrying that belief out."
But if you allow creationism to be taught in schools then christians are carrying their believes out on others. I'm completely okay with believing in creationism but don't teach it the kids in biology. Do it in religion or something; I don't care there.

"So? People are still entitled to their own beliefs, no matter how wrong they are. Are they hurting you because they don't believe we descended from apes as evolution calls for? No, not at all. Somehow, you just can't handle the fact people have different opinions."
Oh, I can and that very well. What I have a problem with and what can become a problem for the USA itself is, if we start to think that religion and science are basically the same thing and starting to teach creationism in _biology_ is one sign that the USA is already believing that. A democracy must be able to protect science as well as religion.
"This, I can agree with, but like I said before, we have a Judeo-Christian majority, so majority rules, and isn't that a key element of democracy?"
Well, no. If 51% would vote to bring back slavery. A democracy has to protect ALL of it people. Not just the majority:

No, that was the amended version proposed by senator Feinstein. It was shot down, 55 to 45.21 -

@Anonymous: Implying presidents make budgets.
Clinton's surplus was set up by Newt Gingrich, Clinton shut down the government refusing to sign it. Eventually he signed it.
Bush's highest debts were his last two years in office when Democrats ruled congress. Guess where Obama's increases were the sharpest? the first two years.
Remember when Obama said increasing the debt limit was immoral? Why does he not feel that way when he holds the credit card? -
Anonymous
@Anonymous: Gingrich shut down the government because he didn't get the seating assignment he wanted on an plane trip.

@Anonymous: Not really. In situations like this you've basically got a game of chicken. If neither side blinks, there's a crash and it's both sides' fault.
