I raged at Metal Gear as a young boy. As a teen, I took that rage out on Metal Gear Solid's Extreme difficulty setting. In college I stumbled through MGS 2/3 confused by some of the plot and underlying weirdness. As a grown adult, Metal Gear Solid 4 tied up numerous loose ends and made some sense out of the story, but most importantly, it brought me closure after 20 years.

MGS3 When you fight the boss. You get the Snake Eater song playing near the end making it a badass epic fight....then afterwards you murder her.

My mood changed pretty quickly when I actually had to pull the trigger. Feels bad man.
