aww, poor yuppie can't use a real computer like the rest of us?
Stop worshiping Steve Jobs and buying crap like iPads when you know they're broken before you buy them. Even if they did work (which the OP just proved they don't), Apple isn't even halfway moral. They censor devs and use child labor to make those i-gizmos.81 1 -

@Phobia: I have an Android tablet made my Archos and it is vastly inferior to an Apple iPad.
I am a patient guy and awesome with tech, but within 15 minutes of turning on the Android tablet, I found myself shouting at full volume: "NO YOU @#$@^ THING, DON'T DO THAT!!" as it managed to screw up again and again on simple tasks.
Apple has nothing to worry about. If that's the best Android can do, then this pale imitation of iOS has a way to go.21 -

The fact is that iPads sell because they give people something they want. They are very well designed both aesthetically and from an interaction design standpoint, it's intuitive and easy to learn, the price point may be high but clearly there are enough people willing to pay it. Who cares if you "think" android is better or other tablets are better at this point more people think the iPad is better. To be frank I've done research on how kids use these tools, and it's very impressive on how quickly they pick up and use an iPad vs other technologies.

@Anonymous: Who said I bought it?
I have a friend (radical, I know) at school who had one, it was terrible, I sit now with Pages open on my iPad and it works pretty well!
By the way, why is there no real competition to iWork on the iPad?
I just can't see how tablets can be marketed to businesses without things like word processing and spreadsheet editing! -

@Phobia: The thing about Appol products is: they release iX today, and in 8 months they release iX2 with few more things but more expensive. You don't even enjoy your fucking iX and when you realize, your iX is already obsolete.
And they can't lower their prices because that would take a big chunk of "status" from their brand, and then people wouldn't buy their stuff, because honestly, their sales are made at least 50% based on the status their products have... many people don't actually care about quality. "iPad is cool? Gimme", "iPhone is DA phone? Gimme"

Between Canvas staff we have iPads, iPhone and Android phones. No Android slate yet, although once I see some killer apps I might get one (iPad 2 is too incremental to be worth an upgrade for me).
We don't support touch events in the remix editor (which we do support for stickering, which is why it works on an iPad). It's mostly pointless to add support at the moment, because phone/slate-class processors just can't keep up with our Javascript. As this changes, we'll certainly add support for touch events.31 -
