This is pure classic FAIL. A magazine for teens, filled with stock images and written by old men from the Heritage Foundation and Family Research Council (not to mention the aryan looking kids on the cover). Google this, it's awesome. Note: Apparently the publishers have already taken the site down. Seriously, who thought this was a good idea?

It is almost as fail as bourgeois magazines aimed at proletarians, trying to induce proletarians into false consciousness.
OH WAIT THAT'S ALMOST EVERY MAGAZINE EXCEPT MIDNIGHT NOTES, AUFHEBEN AND BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS.

I just wonder why you have to hate a magazine because it doesn't jive with your own personal political beliefs? Aren't LOTS of magazines written by old white men? Like ... Maxim, Stuff, and GQ? Or how about Newsweek, Time, and USNews? Cosmopolitian is probably written by old white women.
So you don't agree with the magazine ... good for you. Why spew hate about it?

I don't understand what young people are suppose to conserve. The values of their parents? Ridiculous.
For me, being young means finding myself and creating my life as I see best. Not reading from magazines how it should be.

Yes I'm judging it. I feel that abstinence only education is wrong for the modern world. Sex in a relationship (meaning not fucking everything that breathes) is healthy and allows the relationship grow, a fully grown relationship with two sexually mature adults is best or the world. I would find that article "funny" (in a sad sort of way) because most abstinence based arguments revolve around god wanting us to be "pure", or sex as some dirty curse, both of those lead to warped views of sex and could potentially lead to adults not willing to accept the healing and bonding properties of sex. Never said I was a liberal, I read that headline as a satirist.
Whaddup now?

I was talking about the Reagan article, but even then, abstinence is still "the best". 100% of not getting STDs, not having a baby, people not laughing at how small your equipment is... Abstinence is statistically the best.
Even then, abstinence is still taught along side "safe" sex in most schools (safe in quotation marks because nothing in this world is safe).

@Anonymous:
So would you like to be the one to teach hormone ridden teenagers that they can *have* sex just not *all* the time with everyone? When does a relation become ready to grow through sex? What if one person is ready for sex and the other isn't?
Look, all I'm saying is that sure, maybe sex helps a relationship grow, but we already know that abstinence does that too, and the curriculum is already there for abstinence. Granted, in a similar way to the "D.A.R.E." program, the curriculum doesn't always work, but that doesn't mean it should be abandoned.

@Anonymous: I've just finished the Reagan article, and I actually find it quite interesting. The effects of Reaganomics on black people. Now, I realize that was a different time, with a different world, and different politics, but that is an interesting point.

The British with a n=15000 study of adolescents have proved that abstinence has no effect on adolescent sexual behaviour.
Telling kids "what what in the butt" is more effective at preventing pregnancy than abstinence programs.

The main reason to teach children to practice abstinence is because it is kinky. Seriously, it is a BDSM relationship between old christian men and adolescent children.
For preventing disease transmission I would recommend condoms.
For preventing pregnancy I'd recommend exclusive homosexuality.

"Proletariat" is a technical term in social science's class analysis to specifically refer to wage and salary earners, correspondingly "bourgeoisie" refers to those who subsist off profits from earning capital.
"Working class" and "1%" don't have the same coverage, they don't discuss a "relationship to production."
